This activity aims for students to explore a historical period through direct observation of the textbook.

Assign a historical period

  1. Each group or student must work on a specific period from the book (for example, Paleolithic, Neolithic, Age of Metals…).

Data search

Students must look in their book for the assigned period and search for data to fill in the Historical Data table.

Final Historical Data

As they read, they should note information in the following categories:
  • Technology: What tools, techniques, or inventions were used in that period?
  • Environment: What was the natural environment where they lived like? What climate, flora, and fauna predominated?
  • Society: How were they socially organized? What customs, beliefs, or types of housing did they have?
  • Key Innovation: What important advance stands out in that stage? Datoshistoricos(1) Pn
Recommendations:
  • Encourage them to prioritize information from the book before resorting to other sources.
  • Encourage them to write in their own words to ensure understanding.
  • Remind them that each row of the table must be consistent with the assigned period.
